Guide to Fujikyu Themepark/ Fuji-Q Highland

Guide to Fujikyu Themepark/ Fuji-Q Highland

How to get to Fuji-Q? What to do at Fuji-Q? There are several things to do at Mount Fuji area. Other than visiting the picturesque scenery of Mount Fuji and taking many pictures, you could also visit the Hot Spring and the Fuji Q Themepark. This themepark has several thrill rides that are on the list of world top roller coasters. So if you are looking for some fun, don't miss this park.

Watch my Youtube video for more detailed information of the park!

There are top 4 rides that you must take if you are thrill lover.

1. Dododonpa-
Fastest Acceleration from 0-180km per hour in 1.56s

2. Eejanaika-
Ride with highest number of spins in the world. Seats rotate within the car.

3. Takabisha-
Steepest drop in the world at 121 degrees

4. Fujiyama (King of Coasters)-
used to be fastest and tallest roller coasters in the world in 1996. Now still one of the best!

Other than rides, there are other anime themed restaurants and shops, hence very kids friendly if you just want to visit and stroll around!

Transportation tip:
How we get there: From Tokyo, 2 hours ride. We took the route from Tokyo Station ("Tokyo Sta. <=> Yamanakako Asahigaoka"), embarking at Tokyo Station Yaesu South Exit at 6:20am, and arriving at the "Fuji-Q Highland" Station at 8:30am.

When return, you can purchase return bus ticket and go back from the same place!

  • Cost of bus ticket: 2000 yen one way per adult,1000 yen one way per child.

Park Entrance Ticketing:

We bought the ticket online, which cost 6000 yen for unlimited ride for one full day. Outside each ride, you could also purchase each ticket separately, but if you plan to take more rides, it is still cheaper to purchase the day pass. (Tip: the 4 top rides cost 2000 yen each ride, if you buy ticket separately). Upon arriving, go to ticket counter to exchange online ticket to a physical ticket (do the same for those who bought a pass, or looking for free admission).

During peak hours, you can purchase the Zekkyo Priority Ticket to skip the queue. It can be purchased separately in using the vending machine outside of each ride as well. Price of this ticket fluctuates according to the peak season/ day, so I can't tell you exactly how much is it.

For those who do not wish to take the roller coaster rides, it is FREE ADMISSION to the park.
